Back in his 10th-grade days, Ramil jumped into a local guitar class, stoked about playing all his favourite tunes. But his love for music started way before that. Poetry was his secret sauce even before he strummed a chord and even before he thought about turning it into songs, and guess what? It wasn't until 2020, amidst the pandemic, that he found the freedom to translate his verses into music and he was like, "Why not write some songs now?" It was like a musical awakening for him. The lockdown prompted him to question the essence of his musical pursuit, leading to the birth of his songwriting venture.
A Wild Card of Inspiration
For Ramil, life itself is a wellspring of inspiration. His creative process is a bit of a wild card, where sometimes lyrics take the lead, other times it's the music setting the vibe. “Keeps things interesting, you know? Feel something, write something. People dig it, and that's the fuel to keep the fire burning," says Ramil, the poet-turned-musician.
Pragmatic Independence
Facing obstacles as an independent artist, Ramil adopts a pragmatic and more realistic approach, refusing to dwell on hardships. "You gotta do what you gotta do," he says and his philosophy revolves around doing what needs to be done without succumbing to challenges. Although he is open to collaboration with labels in the future, he's digging the freedom of creating music independently and casually drops. Labels? Sure, maybe later.
