Prateek Sharma is a 23-year-old rapper based in Mumbai. His latest single "Power" has already established him as one of the future Mcees in the Indian hip-hop scene. Initially not interested in rap music since it always felt like a region where extroverts and outspoken people outshined, it’s only after some time that he realized rapping is not only about lyrics but also rhymes and lyrics. The pivotal point in our young rapper's life was when he saw the breakdown video of KR$NA's "Makasam" by Rohan Cariappa. Having only watched commercial rap till then, his only perception of hip-hop changed after learning about the writing skills and the entendre, puns, and metaphors. Seeing this type of music, the Mumbai-based rapper believed he could also make something like that during the pandemic.
Heavily influenced by KR$NA, Raftaar, Fotty Seven, and Emiway, Prateek wrote his first song "Naam" giving a prelude to the people and introducing himself. With that, over 30 free verse-type rap videos were uploaded on YouTube which are now kept private because they are not presentable in any way, believing it to be a learning phase and outshining that phase with his first release "Blind".

"My music is just one of the means for me to express myself in this world. I would definitely love to do it full time but I am also aware of the current competition that there is to become a full-time rapper, so I am also okay to do it part-time right now as a hobby. It just gives me some mental well-being every time I upload a new track."
Having a music process is quite simple, with first focusing on one of the emotions streaming through in head and trying to discover a beat similar to the sentiment, to start writing immediately. Having writer's block on a rare basis, Prateek tries to add as many puns in his songs as comes to him naturally. Connecting two unrelated things if they sound similar, he gives his music a special unique touch by denoting them in inverted commas. Giving music with smooth equilibrium between lyrics and emotions, the music denotes his experience, journey, and interpretation from both positive and negative perspectives.
"I do feel some satisfaction within as if I am fitting a piece of puzzle in life that no one else can fit. It gives me a purpose to go after and that is all I want. All of my songs are inspired by the experiences and emotions I have gone through at some point in my life in the past."
Currently focusing on building his profile and discography that distinguishes his identity, Prateek does not plan on releasing any album or EP until and unless he gains a fanbase that wants it. Presently focusing on singles to give every song a sense of justice, the rapper plans to collaborate with many rap artists and the industry for growth.

With most of his songs settling with an anti-hero vibe, the 23-year-old rapper also agrees with this statement but is satisfied as long he is writing and creating from his heart and putting forward his truth. Earlier a habit of drifting away from the topic while writing, it has significantly improved now which is very evident in his new lyrics. His favourite song till now is Sane (Hell Version), going through some psychological upheavals this song reflected his struggles and the difficulties faced in coping with prosperity. Thanks to the support of the people around him, he was able to exit that phase of life and is now grateful for the life he has now. Pulling off the curtains, when asked to give some advice to the people who are trying to get into the rap industry. Prateek feels that since everyone has their journey, it is filled with lessons that shape everyone differently and the answers everyone seeks are different. One thing he was pretty solid on was always keeping your professional and personal life separate.
