In everyday life, there are many instances where there are bends leading toward things not understandable to us. With everything revolving around us moving so fast, we are not able to grasp anything. With the time flow being constant always, there's no time to lounge or reflect. This is something everyone perceives and struggles with daily. With the world never halting for us, we have to keep on moving forward with it even if every joint of our physique is exhausted and our mental conditions are depleting at an incremental rate. Everything has to move forward. Having a universal appeal, Pune-based artist Ivaan concentrates on the spectacle of losses and distress cumulated due to the phenomenon of the promptly altering world and life in his latest project "f major".

Ivaan, a 23-year-old artist born and raised in Nepal has been living in Pune for the past almost two years. Being raised in an era of mp3 files and pen drives, music was introduced to him consciously during school times when he used to exchange songs through pen drives with a friend made on the school bus. His earliest memories still in recall with his father were him playing " Drop the World" and dancing to it without recognizing and understanding the music, this was the moment when he fell in love with hip hop and music in general. Music has always played a vital role in his life, this passion was taken a step further in 2017 when he made his first rap.

"I heard ‘Jamnapaar’ by Raga and I wished I could rap like him but I had no idea how to. I wrote a few verses for a year (I remember spitting one to a friend and he said it sounded like something Ikka wrote and I copied) so I wanted to try it out and I put a verse on the instrumental of this song called ‘Pull The Trigger’ by Russ"

Initially planning to be a footballer, the feeling after making a song felt so great it replaced the initial dream of being a musician. The satisfaction received after fans approached him with how the songs have helped is the greatest achievement the 23-year-old could wish for. Arriving at the hip-hop scene only a few years ago, he has already created his image as a prolific artist in the community, connecting up with other rappers and artists running the current scene like Devoniàn. Heavily inspired by J. Cole, especially with the song "Love Yourz", there are traces of a lifelong impact on the Pune artist. With such surging statistics in popularity and music production, according to the rapper, it might be enough to be dependent on music for a living.

"Sometimes you don’t know what is happening, the other times you’re so tired and still trying yet you have no choice but to move ahead."

When asked about the meaning behind his latest project "f major" with Mridul Kala, he explained that the title of the project is self-explanatory. It's about failures, there are instances where everyone faces disappointments and losses. The title also relates to the fact that with no college degree, this path of a music career has created so many obstacles facing problems at every stone. The project as a whole is an ode to the difficulties and drawbacks he faced throughout his life, incorporated with beautiful artwork.

"I love pankhe, with Mridul Kala and Maximoltz. The way the hook sounds gives me a sense of motivation. I came up with the hook when I was trying to write while I was facing writer's block and that is exactly what the song is about, to try regardless of how many Ls you take or however the situation is."

When asked about his future endeavours, Ivaan announced that he is currently working on his first album with Devoniàn which is determined to be released before the year ends. He is also planning to release another project in April followed by a few singles featuring insane artists. It seems that Ivaan is ready to own 2024, and f major was just the first stride of the wave to be followed this year.
