With the exponential rise of 808s and switching to digital applications for music production, listeners of electronic music have been crushing other genres in terms of popularity and accessibility. Aman Chauhan is a 24-year-old who might seem like an ordinary Mumbaiker to us, but there is another side to his personality that people don't know. Going under the name of Dronark, he is one of the rising experimental hip-hop producers in India. Always been an active follower of the electronic scene and top DJs since 12th grade. Watching streams of live sets on YouTube, it was not long before he stumbled upon a tutorial on Fl Studio. Experimenting with the sounds, he gradually started learning how to design sounds and how to arrange them, making a full song. As he progressed in learning, he witnessed experimenting with other styles and genres like hip-hop, pop, Indie & R&B.
Having a small setup in his room, the artist makes music independently based on his approach. There isn't any customary approach while making music. Every music has a different method to follow. When asked more about this, Dronark explained
"So, for example when it comes to making indie songs that have melodic vocals, I usually like to listen to the vocals first because that’s the main element for me that sparks an emotion or an idea. I like to receive the vocals first and then I build the whole vibe the whole feel around those vocals setting the chords, melodics, and drums over them. When it comes to hip hop, I generally make the instrumentals first and if it’s picked by the artist, vocals and other adjustments come after."

With a style coming from his history with electronic music. Having strong electronic elements present in his music, it is merged in many sectors whether it's sound design or drum design. But even this independence creates a lot of problems. Being an independent artist, the biggest challenge is the visibility & budgets. Good songs go unnoticed because in today’s time tons of music gets released daily. The lack of support for self-released songs makes it a lot tougher for the music to reach new people. Putting out music consistently seems to be the only way out. According to him, being in the music industry you have to be patient. Over the years he has realized to be patient. When you work honestly and when you work hard, you’re going to see things work out your way. When asked whether he has witnessed any evolution of him as an artist, Aman beautifully explained the concept of 10,000 hours.
"I've evolved as a producer and as an artist from the day that I laid my hands on the software that I work with. When you spend most of your time creating music, it sharpens your skills. I strictly believe in the 10000 hours rule which asserts that the key to achieving true expertise in any skill is simply a matter of practicing for at least 10000 hours."

"As for my upcoming projects, I just released ‘Reality Is Often Disappointing’ a conscious hip hop track with SHASHANK. My next single is with Mitika Kanwar and is named ‘Faisla’. It’s a Punjabi R&B song fused with Indian classic elements and vocal melodies. That one is to look out for sure! I aim to keep releasing fresh music consistently."
