Bhuvas Singh Tomar, better known to the music scene by his stage name collesttye, has been deeply rooted in music since the tender age of four, when he first began playing the piano. This early relation with music only intensified as the years went by, eventually leading him to pick up the microphone at 16. Now, at 18, his latest album, "OLIVEIRA" stands as a testament to his growth, both as an artist and as an individual steering the mazes of young love and life.
Influenced by his own life experiences collesttye’s journey into music was particularly because of his first love at 17. This relationship brought about a whirlwind of emotions and alterations in him, which he decided to channel into his music. “I’ve been working on my album since then, using all the knowledge I’ve gained about production,” he reveals.

When it comes to the sound of his latest album "OLIVEIRA," collesttye says he drew inspiration from a variety of sources. While he listened to an eclectic mix of music, Lil Uzi Vert and Riovaz were major influences. Despite not being a fan of metal music, he found himself charmed by the aesthetic that metal bands bring, particularly in fashion and music and this admiration for their creative approach subtly moulded the overall vibe of his album.
While talking about the story behind his artist name which is as unique as his music, Tomar mentions that at the age of five, while creating his first email ID, he mistakenly typed "collest" instead of "coolest." The name stuck with him for years, and when he began releasing music, he decided to keep the name but added "tye" at the end, though it holds no particular significance. “My name is pronounced simply as ‘call-est,’” he clarifies.
In "Oliveria, collesttye feels that he has truly evolved as an artist. From production to mixing, he believes Oliveria represents his best work yet. In the past, he experimented with pluggnb and RNB while making trap but never released those tracks. With this album, he decided to showcase his versatility, challenging the image of what a "trap rapper" can be. “I wanted to show everyone how versatile I am and how versatile a ‘trap rapper’ can be,” he asserts.

The creative process behind Oliveria, particularly the last song on the album, was both challenging and cathartic. “It comes from a time where I had no idea what’s gonna happen next, both in my love life and my music life,” he reflects. This uncertainty and emotional turmoil are what made the track so special to him. Whenever he feels burdened by emotions, he finds solace in unloading them through his music, making his work raw and authentic.
With "OLIVEIRA," collesttye hopes that listeners will approach the album with an open mind as the project is filled with a range of emotions, from feeling invincible to being completely consumed by love. “I aim to make the listener feel energetic and hype in the first part of the album, then slowly transition into a more romantic feeling towards the second part,” he explains. Bhuvas asks his listeners to give the album a few listens before forming any judgments, hoping they will connect with the emotions and experiences he has tried to weave into his music.
To someone who’s never heard his work, collesttye describes his sound as “Fresh.” His ability to blend various genres like Indie, House, and Pop within a trap framework sets him apart. “I bring something that not all trap artists bring to the table, and that’s versatility,” he proudly states. His primary goal as an artist is simple yet profound: to create beautiful art that resonates with as many people as possible, with aspirations of touring and performing his music across the country.
