"The only thing I want to say is it had been fun making music, meeting people, jamming with people, and exploring new stories from everyone."

In today's digital era, new petals are being discovered rising out with their talents and art. Out of these millions of blossoms, Asad Hussain's latest single "Haseen" stands out to be the most well-distinguished one. Being enrolled in a boarding school for a long time, a feeling of alienation and disconnection always remained with him. However, this constraint did not restrict this emerging talent from uncovering his inner affection and passion. Being resorted to their sense of fun, Asad discovered music as his entertainment and pleasure and continued following this pursuit throughout his life.

"I have always been a part of our school and college bands in the past and have made some great memories then recently during the pandemic I and one of my bandmates Ashwin were stuck in our hostel room because of the lockdown and we thought why not try making something of our own and that's how my songwriting journey started."

When asked about his musical journey, he stated that his artistic pivotal point was when he released his first single "Shaam" back in 2020. Released during lockdown, the song dealt with isolation and loneliness being expressed in a very innocent notion. When asked about the title of the track, he responded " I named it Shaam which means ‘Evening’ cause evenings are the end of the day, a lot dark and the orange hue gives hope for a new day." Fast forward to today, we can glimpse a great transition in his musical journey. When asked about his motivations and goals that are making him pursue music, we were astonished as well as affected by his answer.

"To be honest I wouldn’t say I have any primary goal as an artist because I think the other facets of life need equal importance “says Asad. It's apparent that Asad is not here to achieve accomplishments and success, the only satisfaction that suffices him in the path is creating more music, associating with more people and to produce something with which people connect to, irrespective of fame and acclamation. The most impressive thing that distinguishes him from others is his approach to song-making. Usually, artists first formulate an idea and then approach to create the composition and add lyrics, but Asad and his music-making technique is quite different from the others. "I always try to shape my memories into songs and that makes it more personal to me and that's how I found my voice."

This does not deviate our sprouting artist from his love for music in general. When asked about his inspirations and influences, all genres play an equally crucial role as musical inspiration for him and it's very evidently found in the music where we can detect a fusion of multiple genres in his musical voice including indie rock to acoustic. But what greatly inspires him are well-written songs and indie singers. Asad also mentions Shubham Kabra and Osho Jain as his major sources of provocation as of right now.

When asked about his future aims and aspirations, Asad plans on releasing two more singles this year titled "Guftgu" and "Ajnabi". When asked to provide more information on the singles, he said Guftgu showcases the feeling of having a big crush, going crazy to talk to someone and you don’t want the conversation to end. The second song is called “Ajnabi” which dwells upon the fact that every one of us has some regrets and in times of pain we tend to wish we could have done something the other way and that now we are a stranger to that choice.

When inquired more about future releases, the singer replied that Ajnabj might be his favourite track he ever created and contains his best verses. Giving us a glimpse of the lyrics of the upcoming song, Asad reveals one of his favourite lines in the song

“Sapno ki udan mein farz se thoda sehma hua”

Which delivers the idea that regrets are just part of our lives and even in times of sorrow they shouldn’t define us. Concluding the discussion, we asked Asad about what are his next steps and what words would he like to convey to people who are aspiring to be musicians. Presently, Asad is aware of what he wants to do which is to experiment with different sounds and integrate them into his writings for a better expression.

"A few of the key lessons I have learned on my journey and can give as advice to someone aspiring to be an artist would be to never stop having fun while making music because it's supposed to be an art to ease your mind, secondly always try doing live gigs and jamming sessions and I know social media is more tempting for fame but the joy and experience of live gigs are different.”

The last pointer would be technical things, especially for singers out there who learn some basics about production and likely still don’t produce my music but it eases the process of conveying what you want to a producer."
